Brooklyn-based director Lauren Sick grew up in the dark woods of suburbia, screening inappropriate horror movies at slumber parties.
With work spanning lifestyle, sport, music, and fashion, she brings human expression to the fore, coupling a hyper-stylized, cinematic, visual style with raw human emotion, rooted in her background of theater and movement. The passion Lauren brings to each of her projects comes from the conviction that the magic of sight and sound, in the right combination, has the power to move, empower, and inspire.
Lauren has collaborated with clients such as Chromeo, Beats by Dre, Pentatonix, Nike, Google, Illinois Lottery, Vogue, and Fendi.
Her experimental “short shorts”, which she wrote, directed, and starred in, were broadcast in Germany and France through Souvenirs from Earth, the first cable network in Europe dedicated to video art, film, music, installation, and performances.
Her work as an actor has been screened at SXSW, Tribeca, NYFF, and NYTVF, and most recently took home a prize at Cannes Lions. The 2015 fashion film that she directed for the Kering Group, shot in New York, London, Milan, and Paris, had its world premiere at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
At the end of the day, Lauren is still a boundary-pushing punk kid who can't resist cheesy 90s hip hop, a good beer tasting, and any excuse to jump in a lake.
